XPL midrange drivers have big power but at the same time a butter smooth and almost perfectly linear response right up to rolloff point. In the region up to around 1Khz they are absolutely unbeatable and offer amazing detail and sonic quality. Power handling is tremendous due to the top of the range Y35 magnet and generously sized motor. VC gap is pinned at a modest setting allowing for big power with a little latitude on coil rub due to abuse but the speaker is not designed for beginners.
